In June 2020, I witnessed a conflict between artists and neighbors over a Black Lives Matter emblem painted on Bernal Rock in San Francisco.  I couldn’t stop thinking about how moved I was by these passionate artists and the power public art can have in a community.  This film documents the dynamic flood of public art which occurred during the social upheaval magnified by the pandemic, as well as tracing the history of public art and social justice in the Bay Area.  This is a tribute to the artists who have taken on the role of community leaders, using murals, posters, and memorials to create awareness and address social change.
