Documentary film about women, retirees and street fighting.
In Argentina in the 90s, during the first neoliberal cycle, a retired woman became the most visible and combative voice of those who were pushed to the margins: Norma Pla. From the streets and the media, Norma challenged the government, denounced injustice, and defended the rights of retirees and workers, becoming an icon of resistance and dignity. However, time erased her from the official narratives.
Norma También (Norma Too) starts from that absence: it proposes to restore her figure and rethink the strength of her legacy. With unpublished archival materials, a visual treatment that recovers the texture of the 1990s through color and editing, and an original soundtrack that dialogues with popular memory, the documentary constructs a cinematic experience that links Norma’s struggle with the tensions of the present in Argentina and Latin America.
More than a portrait, Norma También is a political and poetic gesture that responds to a generational need: to look again at a woman who also made history, reinterpreted in the current context.
