Kaylah Marin

Artist, filmmaker, and writer Kaylah Marin is dedicated to social causes, having worked with organizations such as the Dolores Huerta Foundation and the Garifuna International Indigenous Film Festival. As a former board member of Community Services United, she focused on health and economic restoration in Berkeley.

Kaylah contributes her expertise to KAJE Creative, a consulting business that leverages media, music, art, and film to enhance branding, marketing, and promotional efforts with a focus on community building through stories and visual media. She co-directs the SF Social and Economic Justice Film Festival and chairs the UPS Pride Alliance.

Kaylah is most proud of her invitations to perform at the Ron Dellums Memorial, Dolores Huerta’s 80th birthday, and WorldPride NYC – Stonewall 50.And as a Billboard-charting artist, Kaylah has collaborated with top industry names, including Narada Michael Walden, the Perry Twins, Josh Harris, Mike Rizzo, and Tracy Young. Her work with the Garifuna International Indigenous Film Festival earned her the title of Ambassador of Music in both 2017 and 2018.

Francisco Herrera

Francisco Herrera, from Calexico, California, grew up blending rancheras, mariachi, and garage rock. Influenced by Liberation Theology, he used music to champion social justice, performing at events and church meetings while traveling Latin America and attending seminary. “Reflection and prayer matter, but they should inspire action,” he says, sitting under portraits of Che Guevara and Monseñor Oscar Romero. His album Honor Migrante tackles immigrant rights and globalization, fusing norteño, corrido, electro-cumbia, and Latin rock. Produced by Greg Landau, it embodies his mission to unite music and activism. Available at livingwage-sf.org.

Avotcja


Avotcja, a Bay Area icon, is a Poet, Playwright, Multi-Percussionist, and Teacher whose work has been published widely in English and Spanish. An award-winning artist, she has performed with legends like Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Nikki Giovanni, and Sonia Sanchez and leads the group Avotcja & Modúpue.

Her poetry and music have been featured in anthologies, recorded by notable artists, and performed by groups like The Purple Moon Dance Project. A popular DJ, founder of The Clean Scene Theater Project, and dedicated teacher, she continues to inspire through her artistry and advocacy.

Vukani Mawethu is a multi-racial community based social justice choir which sings freedom songs of Southern Africa, as well as songs showing links between struggles in the United States and around the world. We are united in our strong opposition to racism and injustice, and by our love of rhythms, melodies and harmonies which have grown out of many struggles for freedom. We collaborate, perform and organize to inspire and unite people to strive and work for peace, justice and equality for all.

Continuing her father Dick Gregory’s legacy of love, healing, and ongoing fight for community justice and human rights, Ayanna Gregory is an award-winning Soul singer, dramatist, educator and activist who has carved a profound niche where art serves as a catalyst for social change and personal healing. As the daughter of the legendary comedian and Human Rights activist Dick Gregory, Ayanna inherited a life steeped in the struggle of the “Freedom Movement,” a mission that defines her work. Growing up, she interacted with legends like Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and Michael Jackson. Always willing to use her voice for social justice, Ayanna can also be found in the streets, marching and demonstrating on behalf of marginalized people everywhere. Ayanna’s artistic journey has evolved into theatre with the creation of a poignant one-woman show, “Daughter of the Struggle”. Described by Martin Luther King III as “magnificent and inspiring!”, this performance chronicles Ayanna’s incredible journey growing up as a child of the Civil Rights Movement. As a singer/songwriter Ayanna performs around the globe ~ From sacred spaces to amphitheaters, Ayanna brings her own musical blend of Soul Music infusing R&B, Hip Hop, Gospel, Reggae, Acoustic Soul and World Music. As Tavis Smiley stated, “Through her stylistic versatility, Ayanna takes listeners on a musical journey beyond commercial radio.”

Aya de Leon is a writer and dancer who teaches creative writing at UC Berkeley. She organizes with the Movement for Black Lives, the Working Families Party and the Black Organizing Project of Oakland.

La Peña Community Chorus

La Peña Community Chorus has been performing songs of peace, freedom and social justice since 1979 at concerts, demonstrations, Bread and Roses venues, as well as for senior residences, and juvenile detention centers. The Chorus was formed by community members in solidarity with refugees who escaped the death and torture of the Pinochet regime after the violent U.S.-sponsored coup in Chile in 1973.

Andrew Potter

Andrew Potter hails from Jamestown Rhode Island, and delivers great original syncopated finger-style guitar, and stride piano songs in blues, jazz, folk and rock genres. He performs his shows at bars, clubs, hotels and other venues in New England and the San Francisco Bay Area. His current album, “I Haunt My Own House”, is co-written with his long time cohort Mr. Wheeler Cole. Potter’s driving syncopated guitar style and Cole’s snarky and sublime lyrics create vivid musings on family, love, hope, fate and regret. Mr. Potter’s second album “Underwater Palace”, a rock ballad on sea level rise, was released January 2025.

Marco Bianchi

Marco Bianchi a lifelong musician and songwriter. Over the last twenty years, he’s been involved in many projects including Los Nadies (Latin Rock) and more recently the Rainy Sundays (Americana/UK Roots). Since 2015 he has been performing as a solo artist with occasional guest musicians. His musical style resurrects early seventies folk-rock combined with personal, soulful songwriting.
