Jalila Bell

Jalila Bell is a multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, producer, and attorney whose work lives at the intersection of cultural memory and resistance. Her internationally acclaimed, award-winning debut directorial animated documentary Culture Connects Us is currently on the festival circuit. As part of her Arts & Culture Residency with the Alliance for Social and Economic Justice (ASEJ), she joined the Social and Economic Justice Music and the Arts Festival Committee to help place art, dance, music, and performance at the heart of community healing and organizing. Her current projects include producing a live performance segment for SEJFEST 2026 and developing her next film, Surveil Grace.
